It's not just me

You probably think it's really easy to sit here and blog about what a cunt George Lamb is... and you'd be right, because he IS a cunt. But don't take my word for it, here's some other people who think he's a grade A cunt too.

Dear Mr Ronson

Thanks for your e-mail regarding George lamb on BBC 6 Music.

I understand you feel that George's show is of a poor quality and that he doesn't play a type of music you feel 6 Music should be playing.

The station's remit hasn't changed and music remains at the heart of BBC 6 Music. The George Lamb show is part of BBC 6 Music's distinctive daytime schedule. George's show includes far more listener responses and audience interactivity - eg texts and emails - than previously, but we don't see this as 'dumbing down' or detracting from the station's remit - it's about inclusivity, widening the discussion and allowing listeners to contribute.

It is worth noting that George Lamb wasn't a new presenter to BBC 6 Music when he took on the show - he's presented the evening show - so was used to the station's style and its audience.

6 Music draws a very diverse range of listeners and we're confident that across our output we offer programming which will appeal to all tastes and George's programme is very much a part of this achievement.

I appreciate that this issue is of much importance to you and I have registered your concerns on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.

We are committed to developing better links with you, our audience, to further enhance our understanding of your listening needs and the audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

Thanks once again for taking the time to contact the BBC.

Regards

I remeber listening to his show and its where I first heard a few bands who I follow now and thought it was a funny show. No dj currently is as funny although some could be considered better at breaking music such as zane lowe and other better at creating a vibe: huey morgan and craig charles. Ironically some of the former artist are the worst DJs on the station lauren lavern is terrible and rarely plays any good stuff and is a entertaining and funny as incontinence. I used to love Mark and Lard but Radcliffe is very poor and has his head so far into snouty territory that he really is a poor dj. the statin has defo gone downhill in terms of djs, btw dont think he is a cunt do agree with you the decision makers in the station probably are, give bernard cribbens, paul foot, vic reeves a show that would be of interest. And musically give gilles peterson a show on at a decent hour and Richard James Witter was outstanding when he covered for a few shows on the station.
